Review: Hollowland and Hollowmen by Amanda Hocking
HOLLOWLAND By Amanda Hocking
Hollows one
Goodreads Description:
"This is the way the world ends - not with a bang or a whimper, but with zombies breaking down the back door."
Nineteen-year-old Remy King is on a mission to get across the wasteland left of America, and nothing will stand in her way - not violent marauders, a spoiled rock star, or an army of flesh-eating zombies.
My Thoughts:
I loved it! I loved all the characters and Remy was awesome!
The world has been overtaken by zombies. When Remy's brother is taken from a safe place that was over-run by zombies, Remy does everything in her power to find him. She goes through an amazing journey with a friend, a lioness- Ripley, a rock star, and his friend Blue.
This was such a great read! OMG, I fell in love with all the charaters. Remy was awesome, and she would do anything for her little brother. She went through so much to find him! And Ripley the Lion- I just fell in love with her, she connects with Remy so well and helps them in their journey, shes great! And Lazlo was a little annoying, but I liked him. Blue was awesome, I loved his character.
I was amazed that I would love this book but Amanda Hocking is amazing! And I'm definitely going to be getting her other books, I want more of what she can offer.

HOLLOWMEN By Amanda Hocking
Hollows two
Goodreads Description:
the sequel to Hollowland....
After six months in the quarantine, Remy finds out things are much worse than she feared. Her plans to escape come with a heavy cost, and she realizes that zombies aren't the worst of her problems.
My Thoughts:
Awesome! I read it in one sitting, I just couldn't put it down. I got hooked from page one.
I loved Remy and her amazing new journey, new characters, and wild new plot. Great read, you won't be disappointed! The romance was like the first- unpredictable. I think that's what I loved most.
It has a "forest of hands and teeth" vibe to it (which I love). Actually, I think I like this one just a tad bit better for some reason. Maybe because it's still fresh in my head, I don't know. Also, Remy reminds me of Rose from Vampire Academy. She's always on a mission, letting nothing stop her from reaching here goal, selfless, protecting others, strong minded, and whoops zombie ass.
I loved it and would recommend definitely recommend it. And, you know what makes it even more awesome? It's on Amazon (kindle/ebook) for only $2.99! And... "I think" (don't hold it against me) that the first book-Hollowland - is also on Amazon (kindle/ebook) for free!
Check it out :)

Review: The Vampire Hunter's Daughter: Part I
The Vampire Hunter's Daughter By Jennifer Malone Wright
Part one
Goodreads Description:
Fourteen-year-old Chloe witnesses her mother’s murder at the hands of a vampire. Before the vampire can kidnap her, there is an unexpected rescue by a group of vampire hunters. Overwhelmed by the feeling of safety, Chloe passes out and they whisk her away to their small community.
When Chloe wakes, she comes face to face with the only other living relative, besides her mother, whom she has ever met: her grandfather. Chloe’s mother kept her hidden from the family; now, Chloe tries to unveil the family secrets.
Through her grandfather, she learns her mother was a vampire hunter. In fact, her entire family is descended from the powerful bloodlines of vampire hunters. Chloe agrees to join the family she has never known for one reason only: Chloe vows to kill the vampire responsible for her mother’s murder.
With vengeance in her soul, Chloe is even more determined to follow through on her vow when she discovers the true identity of her enemy and how he is connected to her
The Vampire Hunter's Daughter is the first in a series of short stories by Jennifer Malone Wright.
My Thoughts:
This was a nice little read! I really hope this turns into a book because it has alot potential to be great.
Fourteen year-old Chloe goes through a sad tragedy - her mother being killed right in front of her. To make things worse, they are after Chloe because she is the daughter of a powerful vampire and her father wants her because she is special. Her mother worked hard to keep her safe and away from Trevor (her father) whom she once loved. On the day her mother was killed, she was rescued by vampire hunters, she soon finds out that her mother was a vampire hunter as well and kept her hidden in secret for her own safety. She finds out she is mixed with vampire and vampire hunters blood, something that is rare and unheard of, she sets on a mission to become the vampire hunter she was meant to be so she can revenge her mother's death.
It was a surprisingly fast read but there was so much in it. I got completely sucked in on the first page. It left me wanting more! I really enjoyed reading Chloe's character, she seems to be strong minded and focused. I liked the other charaters as well, and I want to learn more about them. Can't wait to pick-up the other parts to this book, it's awesome.
Jennifer sure knows how to lure people in to her world, I'm looking foward to reading her other or future books!

Review: Shatter Me By Tahereh Mafi
OK, so here goes my first blog post :)
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Goodreads Description:
Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
My Thoughts:
Shatter Me is the most amazing book I've read all year!! The words are written beautifully, and it was very poetic. I've never read a book written like this, and I must say- I LOVE IT!
Seventeen year-old Juliette has always been an outcast; her parents hate her, she never had any friends, and she's been bullied her whole life. They had to lock her in a mental/prision for her own saftey- so she wouldn't kill anyone else. She can kill with the touch of her body (skin). Not that she means to. If anyone touches her, they die.
To make matters worse, the world was falling apart when they sent her away. There are no more government, presidents, food, crops, animals, schools, birds, and the weather is all screwed up . These people called "The Reestablishment" took over, trying to change the world. They divided everthing in to sectors, took everything away (cars, homes, enteratainment, ect.) And anyone trying to stop them has been killed and everything is in choas. One of the sectors' leader, Warner, finds out about Juliette's special ability and wants her.
All she wants in life is to be normal, for people to treat her normal and not to be a monster, but she's starting to think that she is[a monster]- She can kill just by a touch. She soon meets a boy named Adam, who they sent in to be her roomate/cellmate. She knows him from somewhere but can't place it. She discovers secrets, betrayal, love, possibilities, and survival.
Tahereh Mafi just might be my next favorite author and I cannot wait for a sequel. If you haven't picked up this fanastic book yet, do it now, it's a MUST READ!
